Welcome to the Warrenton-Fauquier Jaycees!

We are the premier organization for young adults (21-40 years old) in the local community (Fauquier County, Culpeper County, and Prince William County).  If you want the opportunity to develop your leadership skills, volunteer with community service projects, and meet other young adults in the area, we are the organization for you.

Christmas Toy Workshop

What is Christmas Toy Workshop?

Christmas Toy Workshop provides Christmas for those in need in Fauquier County.  In 2007, Christmas was provided for 792 kids/311 Fauquier County families.  We already have applications in for over 1000 kids this year due to an increase of job losses.

How does Christmas Toy Workshop work?

Applications are sent by Fauquier County’s Social Services to families that are in need.  The families send completed applications to the Warrenton-Fauquier Jaycees.  The Warrenton-Fauquier Jaycees assign numbers to families (to keep names anonymous) and adopt out the families or put kids on angel trees throughout the county.

Adopters shop for the families or kids they adopt.  Adopters are requested to buy at least 3 or 4 items for each kid with at least 1 of those items being on the kid’s wish lists.  Typical items on a kid’s wish list are clothing, shoes, bike, toys, electronics, and books.  When adopting a family, the family may have a wish list.  The family wish list is optional for the adopter to purchase items.  Some typical items on family wish lists are food, blankets, cooking supplies, and gift cards for gas, grocery stores, hair cuts, etc.  Adopters can wrap and label gifts with family number and kid name for families that request that their gifts are wrapped.

Families and kids that are not adopted by individuals, families, organizations, churches, or businesses are adopted by the Warrenton-Fauquier Jaycees.  The Warrenton-Fauquier Jaycees fundraise throughout the year and rely on donations from the community to adopt the families and kids.

Once, the gifts are ready for all of the kids and families, they are picked up at our Christmas Toy Workshop location (TBD) or the Warrenton-Fauquier Jaycees deliver the gifts depending on the preference stated on the application.
